David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Palomar College-9-25-26-The Palomar College football team had an 8-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Tigers of Riverside College with their running and passing came on as they defeated Palomar by a 60-37 score.

“I think when it comes down to the crazy things that goes on we have simplified it a little bit.” “Riverside has a big offensive line where we can do some movements we need to improve on stopping the run and pass.”
” Princeton Anderson is an outstanding receiver as he caught 4 touchdowns today and has been running his patterns in practice along with Phoenix Johnson from Carlsbad, we have about 4 or 5 guys that we rotate.”” In the second half our defensive backs played better in the second half as a staff we have to keep the positives going I told the kids today after the game is that youi didn’t give up and played a strong game.”
Riverside quarterback Chris Cooper threw for 304 yards and 2 touchdown passes. Teammates Jayden Gooden led with 171 yards rushing Nich Gaoa 90 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. Kurelle Thomas 81 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns. Camden Connor 92 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Kai’Nalu Johnson 36 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
Palomar quarterback Noah Schuback 292 yards and 4 touchdown passes. Teammates Bowen Cannon Escondido High alum 13 yards rushing and 1 touchdown. Dominick Hawk 128 yards receiving and 1 touchdown. Princeton Anderson 81 yards receiving and 2 touchdown. Treyson Ikeomu 24 yards receiving and 1 touchdown.
With the loss Palomar College falls to 2-3 overall and 0-2 in the conference. Then they will take a bye week next Saturday and will resume playing football on Thursday, October 8th at Southwestern College.
