J. Brix Wines, an independent, couple-owned San Diego winery, is partnering with FMI Wine Club to host a Chef Pop-Up Series at its flagship tasting room in the North City district in San Marcos, bringing together natural wines, local chefs, and live DJs on two summer evenings.
Taking place from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 11 and Saturday, July 25, guests are invited to sip J. Brix’s natural wines by the glass or bottle while enjoying chef-driven menus and live DJ sets in a relaxed indoor-outdoor setting.
The event is walk-in only, with food and wine available for purchase ranging from $4-$26. The lineup includes:
- July 11: The Heights, a women-owned San Diego street food pop-up known for late-night tacos, will serve a menu of street tacos, crispy quesatacos, quesadillas, nachos and more while DJs Mikey Avila and Brayisme provide the soundtrack for the evening.
- July 25: MabuHI, a food truck specializing in Filipino and Hawaiian cuisine, will serve a menu of pork BBQ, kalbi short ribs, chicken katsu and more, accompanied by DJ sets from Brayisme and Hundo.
J. Brix soft-launched the concept earlier in the year, partnering with local eateries like Mabel’s Gone Fishing, Mesa Agricola and Prager Brothers. The pop-up series is the latest addition to North City’s growing culinary scene, which has quickly become one of North County’s hotspots for chef collaborations and culinary experiences.
