North County Ford, Vista Community Clinic and Vista Unified School District partnership culminates with delivery and live weigh-in at VCC’s new Resource Hub
Vista, CA. — A month-long community effort to stock Vista Community Clinic’s (VCC) new Resource Hub will conclude October 1 with a special delivery, live weigh-in and reveal of the total amount of food and essential items collected through the Stuff the Truck campaign.
Representatives from Ford Motor Company headquarters in Michigan will travel to Vista to join North County Ford, VCC and Vista Unified School District (VUSD) for the delivery and see firsthand the impact of the local campaign.
The event will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 1, at VCC’s Resource Hub, 740 Olive Ave. in Vista.
Throughout September, North County Ford has collected nonperishable food, hygiene products and other necessities to help stock VCC’s new Resource Hub, which will connect patients and families with nutritious food and essential items. The Stuff the Truck campaign grew through a community partnership involving VCC, North County Ford and VUSD, bringing together local businesses, schools and community members to help fill the Hub’s shelves.
On October 1, the collected donations will arrive at the Resource Hub, where the products will be weighed on-site and the campaign’s final donation total will be revealed for the first time.
The event will provide opportunities for media to capture the arrival and unloading of donations, the on-site weigh-in and final reveal, as well as interviews with representatives from VCC, North County Ford, VUSD and Ford Motor Company. VCC’s Resource Hub is being developed, in partnership with Vista Unified School District, as a permanent community support to address needs that can directly affect health, including access to nutritious food and basic necessities. Once operational, the Hub is expected to initially serve approximately 30 to 50 patients or families per day.
