Initial funds were used to help eliminate debt, make improvements to the nonprofit’s Vista campus and support future programs and initiatives
strengthen the nonprofit’s financial position, make much-needed improvements to its Vista campus and support the organization’s work in the years ahead. More than $2.8 million was allocated towards the organization’s first-year needs with a remaining $2 million being held in an investment account to be allocated in future years.
Solutions for Change moved quickly to put the initial funding to work, paying off approximately $800,000 in organizational debt, replenishing more than $500,000 in affordable housing facility reserve funds, purchasing a key property to support its long-term campus strategy and beginning other facility improvements. Phase I of the main facility upgrades, including a new roof, stucco work and exterior painting, is in planning and has not yet begun. The gift will cover a substantial portion of those upgrades.

Solutions for Change has been empowering families to grow beyond their vulnerabilities to attain true freedom from dependency and become productive citizens. Every year, with the community’s support, the organization impacts hundreds of lives. Over the past two decades, Solutions has provided transformative services to over 4,700 parents and children.

Solutions for Change has invested the remaining $2 million for future strategic initiatives. Solutions for Change and the family will work together to identify programs, projects and other priorities where the funding can have the greatest impact.
