Vista Resident to Compete In Carlsbad Half Marathon

Vista resident Christine Anderson, 33, had always dreamed of being a runner, but her bipolar disorder and torn ACL tarnished that dream. Her torn ACL impaired her physically while her bipolar disorder impaired her emotionally.

Now with the help of 13 other inspirational individuals also facing debilitating health conditions, Christine is learning how to perfect her running technique and how to stabilize her moods through exercise.

Christine is one of 13 individuals who were selected for Tri-City Medical Center’s Lucky 13 program, an annual program that provides physical training and emotional support to help participants with health challenges achieve their fitness goals and complete the Carlsbad Half Marathon on Jan. 20.

Meet the other 2018-2019 Lucky 13, a group of thirteen individuals from throughout San Diego’s North County who were selected to participate in the Tri-City Medical Center Carlsbad Half Marathon..

This special group, all of whom have or are currently overcoming health challenges, are training with fitness experts at the Tri-City Wellness Center in Carlsbad to prepare for the 13.1-mile race.
