Narella Gorman & TJ Crossman of TJ Crossman’s Auto Repair

TJ is the owner of TJ Crossman’s Auto Repair….. but we got a tip that he is that and soooo much more!  As we have embarked on our 24 Days of Giving campaign for this holiday season, we have reached out to our friends and fans for suggestions on recipients they feel are deserving of “Keek”ing the season off with a tray of baked deliciousness…..cookies personally delivered by Nana!  Hope you enjoy this…..I know we at NanaKeeks’ sure did!

Narelle Gorman lets us know that TJ  is consistently helping others, and puts them ahead of himself.  Writing this about TJ she says:

“Not often would you expect to find a big, burly guy knitting, let alone a big burly mechanic!  TJ is a Vista local and is well known for being the go to guy when you have a problem with your car.  So it might come as somewhat of a surprise to see him sitting amidst balls of pink yarn!

When his 7 year old daughter came home with a knitting kit that she wanted to take on vacation, TJ offered to help and found himself in the middle of a ball of yarn and a new found enjoyment.

Fast forward 4 months and he is surrounded by woolen hats and scarves that he has made.  After some friendly joshing from his stepfather about his new hobby, TJ felt inclined to put his new skill-set combined with his big heart, to provide some warmth for those not as fortunate as him.  He has been donating the garments to the homeless back in his grassroots home of Whitinsville, MA.  TJ says he finds it –

“therapeutic and calming, and I enjoy giving – just the thought of someone wearing a hat that I made and them being a little warmer on a chilly winters night makes it all worthwhile”.

His giving spirit doesn’t stop there!  He was the instigator behind the Feed a Family Food Drive of 2013 where 6 deserving families in the Vista Community were blessed with receiving their Thanksgiving Dinner baskets, filled with turkeys, hams and all the trimmings!  Mostly handpicked by TJ himself!!  In a busy world it just goes to show you that where there is a heart, there is the ability to give.”

Well it was obvious to the Keek Squad that TJ was definitely deserving so we headed on over to pay him a surprise visit!!!  Just want to say thanks TJ for all you give and we even found the Toys for Tots drop off box at his office so we can add another way in which he is giving to others and his community!  WAY TO GO TJ!
