State and Federal Resources Available for Tax Day

By   /  April 5, 2018  /  No Comments

Tax Day is Tuesday, April 17, and I wanted to share information about resources that are available to you.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) workshops provide free tax assistance. IRS-trained volunteers are available throughout the state. Find out if you are eligible and locations near you at https://www.irs.gov/individuals/free-tax-return-preparation-for-you-by-volunteers.

The federal Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the California Earned Income Tax Credit (CalEITC) help working families. Taxpayers with disabilities and the parents or legal caregivers of disabled dependents also may be eligible for the EITC. You can check your eligibility for the federal EITC here and for the CalEITC here.

As always, if you have need assistance connecting with state agencies, please call my office at 619-596-3136 or email senator.anderson@sen.ca.gov.  I’d like to help you like I helped Dottie:
