David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-Rancho Buena High School-Vista, CA-Friday, April 12, 2019-In a well played baseball game after the Panthers of Vista won round 1 of this matchup by an 11-3 on the Panthers ballfield on Wednesday, April 10th but Friday, April 12th was a different story as the Longhorns trailed 1-0 after an inning and a half scored 5 runs in the bottom of the second and 1 in the fourth as they defeated their rivals by a 6-4 score.

Ricky Imperali Head Baseball Coach at Vista:  “The Longhorns made things happen and got a couple of bunts down that we didn’t field as our defense fell and gave up 4 unearned runs in that inning which was unfortunate for us.”  “Shane Voss, my starting pitcher had trouble on the mound by throwing strikes and couldn’t get his breaking ball over but when we got Andrew Vizcaino in there for relief work he did very well.”
“When we came within 5-3 we had bases loaded 4 times throughout the contest and left a total of 15 guys on base as we didn’t get the key hits that we needed in a timely fashion.”  “When we defeated RBV 11-3 at our place the key factor in the 2 games were the key hits.”  said Coach Imperali
Julius Butler, Evan Madrid, Luke Gordon, Ian Leary, Casey Campbell and Tristan Carvalho scored 1 run each for the Longhorns, Reed Coffin is the winning pitcher for Rancho Buena Vista.
Drake Buffington scored 2 runs for the Panthers while Adam Call and Daniel Ramirez scored 1 run each for the Panthers. Andrew Vizcaino is the loser for Vista.
