North County Sports News Local Athletes: High School – College- Major League

High School Baseball …   LaCosta Canyon defeated Mission Hills 14-1.  Nick Hayes 3 for 3 with 3 singles 1 RBI and 3 runs scored. Chris Neveau 2 for 3 with a solo home run.  Austin Machado went 2 for 3 with a double and a single with 2 RBI’s and 3 runs scored.

San Dieguito Academy defeated Rancho Bernardo 10-1.  Ian Leary scored RBV’s only run in the bottom of the 7th.

The Eagles of Tri City Christian School improve their record at 8-5 on the season as they defeated Southwest SD 13-6.  Ryan Curry 1 for 3 with a single 3 RBI’s 1 run scored, Trey Blackford 1 for 3 with a single and 1 run scored.  Noah Reitmeyer 2 for 3 with a double and a triple 3 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.
San Pasqual defeated Valley Center 5-0.  Josh Tuttle 1 for 4 with a single a RBI 1 run scored.  Jacoby Koser 1 for 2 with a double 1 run scored and 1 RBI.
College Baseball  …. Former San Marcos alum Vinnie Martinez made his batting debut for Stanford as he went 0 for 1 with a groundout.
2 local North County athletes made headlines for the Cal Bears as they defeated the Dirtbags of Long Beach State 13-5.  Former Vista Panther alum Korey Lee went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run with 1 run scored.  Former Sage Creek Bobcat Sam Wezniak went 1 for 5 with a 1 homer 1 run scored and 3 RBI’s.
Former San Marcos Knight Jacob Blas went 0 for 1 with a strikeout for Arizona as they fell to Arizona State 17-16.
Former RBV Longhorn Ken Collard went 0 for 2 for San Diego as they lost to Gonzaga 11-9.
Former Carlsbad alum Connor McKenna went 0 for 4 for the Oklahoma Sooners as they fell to West Virginia 2-1.
Major League Baseball … Rancho Buena Vista and Palomar alum Tony Wolters playing for the Colorado Rockies went 1 for 3 with a double as they fell to the Miami Marline 3-0.
Former Palomar Comet alum Nick Vincent pitched 1.1/3 innings gave up 3 hits 1 run 1 earned 1 walk and 1 strikeout for the San Francisco Giants as they fell to the San Diego Padres 3-1.
Former Vista Panther alum Trevor Cahill started for the Anaheim Angels as he pitched 6 innings gave up 3 hits 1 run 1 earned 5 strikeouts s they fell to the Seattle Mariners 2-1.
Former Palomar Comet Nick Vincent made an appearance for the San Francisco Giants as they fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5.
