David A. Willauer–Duke Snider Field-Fallbrook High School-Fallbrook, CA-3-18-19:  In a North County Baseball Tournament game the Fallbrook Warriors were on a 3 game win streak and after an 8-1 defeat vs. Classical Academy, have found a way to win a close game and improves their record at 4-6 as they defeated the Longhorns of Rancho Buena Vista 3-7 by a 4-3 score in 8 innings.

The Warriors got their first run of the game as Tristan Smith hit a solo home in the bottom of the 1st.

In the visiting third the Longhorns with 2 runners on base Kasey Campbell hit a double to center field to scored Kyle Christianson.  Julius Butler scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch by pitcher Harrison Brown as they led 2-1.

In the Warriors 3rd  Josue Navarro hit a 2 run homer to left field to go ahead 3-2.  The Longhorns came back and tied the game at 3-3 as Pat Morgan went 1 for 4 with a single and an RBI scored teammate Kyle Christianson.

Warriors came back in the home eighth inning as Zack Allegro lead off with a base hit and scored the winning run on Alex Lopez who went 2 for 3 with an RBI single to win the game 3-2.

” I felt that we played well as a team and our pitching along with our defense was solid throughout the ballgame along with scoring the runs, we needed to play hard and to never give up.”  said Alex Lopez.

“We played with a lot of opportunities as  did Rancho Buena Vista, they are an outstanding club. They will put the ball in play along with having good hitters, they did their responsibilities.”  “On the game winning hit to left field the pitch was a fastball on the inner half I was  waiting for a fastball  to hit the ball somewhere in the field.” said Alex Lopez

Harrison Brown was the winner for the Fallbrook Warriors while Jarod Lesley is the loser for the Rancho Buena Vista Longhorns.

Martyn Camacho, Head Baseball Coach of Fallbrook High School: “Rancho Buena Vista hit the ball along with timely hits, we had a couple of their ballplayers on base something that you want to prevent at all possible. They did a good job at executing.” “Josue Navarro did a great job behind the plate and has a great arm, his release of the ball and was quicker along with his 2 run homer to put us up 3-2. In a judgement call, the ball hit the inside upper portion of the foul pole and the umpire called it a homer.”

“Alex Lopez did a good job clamping down on the bat for the team in a situation where everyone was pumped up and creating energy and was clutch for us.”  “Harrison Brown has gotten stronger for us in each outing finding his location of working in and out. We are now starting to play as a team along with competing and that is what we want.” Coach Camacho said.
