Moonlight Stage Productions Presents ‘Shrek: The Musical’

VISTA, CA – July, 2015 – Moonlight Stage Productions presents the fun-loving, fairy tale musical, “Shrek: The Musical.” The production runs August 12-29, 2015 under the stars at Moonlight Amphitheatre in Vista, Calif. “Shrek: The Musical” is the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand…and his name is Shrek. All performances begin at 8 p.m. Single tickets are priced $24 to $52. On Friday, August 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Moonlight Angels Auxiliary is hosting a “Swamp Soiree with Princess Fiona.” Families are invited to partake in an ogre-inspired theatrical experience at the Moonlight! Hosted by Princess Fiona, guests will enjoy a behind-the-scenes stage tour, photo and autograph opportunities with surprise “Shrek: The Musical” performers, special buffet lunch, a gift and more. Tickets are $60 for one adult and one child, and $20 for each additional child. Proceeds benefit the Moonlight Cultural Foundation.

The cast for “Shrek” includes: T.J. Dawson (Shrek); Michelle London (Fiona); Cornelius Jones, Jr. (Donkey); Marc Ginsburg (Lord Farquaad); Jaidyn Young (Teen Fiona); Taylor Coleman (Young Fiona); and Hourie Klijian (Young Shrek/Grumpy).

Production and Design team includes: David FM Vaughn, director and choreographer; Kenneth Gammie, musical director and conductor; JD Dumas, co-musical director; Jean-Yves Tessier, lighting designer; Carlotta Malone, Roz Lehman and Renetta Lloyd, costume coordinators; Chriss Luessman, sound designer; and Stanley D. Cohen, stage manager.

Ticket Deals/ Special Nights – Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday night Family Night prices are $24 for adults and $10 for children.

  • Friday night Family Night prices are $31 for adults and $15 for children. Child tickets    good for kids age 15 and under.
  • Family Night tickets are good for the lawn section only. Chairs are provided free of charge upon entry. Tickets must be purchased at the door on the night of performance.
  • Student Rush Tickets are available for high school, college and university students with a valid ID and are $15 each. Student Rush Tickets are sold for every night except Saturday and must be purchased at the door, and are good for the lawn only. Chair provided at no extra charge. One ticket per ID.

Picnicking at the Moonlight – One of the most unique theatre-going experiences found anywhere is Moonlight’s lawn seating, allowing patrons to bring their own picnic suppers into the theatre and picnicking before the show. Lawn ticket holders receive a chair as part of their ticket upon entry to the theatre.

Artisan Cafe at the Moonlight – The Moonlight’s restaurant, the Artisan Café, is operated by Chef David Krohn. The Café offers pre-show dining outdoors on the Moonlight Patio where glimpses of the sunset can be seen before patrons take their seats for the show. Moonlight Amphitheater  – 1200 Vale Terrace Drive, Vista, Calif.

Gates open for picnicking and dining 90 minutes before curtain. Non-alcoholic beverages and food may be brought into the Amphitheatre. Parking is free.
