Senator Joel Anderson, 38th District…Like many other events we are invited to throughout the year, my office was invited to have a resource table at the upcoming San Marcos Manufacturing Summit with The Coalition for a Prosperous America, a nonprofit nonpartisan organization representing the interests of 2.7 million households through agricultural, manufacturing, and labor members.
My staff will be on hand to discuss any state related issues or questions attendees may have. This is one of many opportunities and workshops that I want to inform you of so that my constituents are aware of opportunities to receive valuable information that could help their businesses, their employees, and their customers.
The purpose of the summit is to review problems and suggest solutions that will accelerate job creation and new investment in the manufacturing sector in California.
The event’s Keynote speaker is Dan DiMicco, Chairman Emeritus of Nucor Steel Corporation. Mr. DiMicco was elected President and Chief Executive Officer in September 2000. He presently serves as Chairman Emeritus (effective January 2014). DiMicco was appointed to the United States Manufacturing Council in 2008 by then-U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez, and served on the board until 2011. DiMicco also served on the boards of the National Association of Manufacturers and on the Executive Committee of the World Steel Association. He was recently appointed by President Trump to be on the Trade Advisory Panel.
Other speakers include:
- Michael Stumo, CEO, Coalition for a Prosperous America
- Michele Nash-Hoff President, ElectroFab Sales Chair, California Chapter for a Prosperous America
