Village and Barrio Master Plan Hearing, 4/18
A public hearing for the Village and Barrio Master Plan will be held at the April 18 City of Carlsbad Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission will make a recommendation on the master plan to the City Council, and the public will have an opportunity to share input. The meeting will begin at 6 p.m. and take place at City Hall, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive.

Shred and Recycle It Event, 4/7
The City of Carlsbad Recycling and Trash program is kicking off its Earth Month celebration with the Shred and Recycle It event on April 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5815 El Camino Real. Participation is free for Carlsbad residents. Advanced registration and proof of residency is required. Registration is open until the event reaches capacity.

Pirate Plunge at Alga Norte Aquatic Center, 4/14
Enjoy pirate themed pool activities and games during the City of Carlsbad’s annual Pirate Plunge event at Alga Norte Aquatic Center at 6565 Alicante Road on Saturday, April 14, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Library Hosts Children’s Author Festival
On April 14, Carlsbad City Library will host its second Local Children’s Author Festival featuring several local authors of children’s books in a panel discussion moderated by Joy Chu, instructor in children’s book Illustration at UCSD Extension and former art director at Harcourt Brace.
