Caden Childress Paces Vista Panthers to 7-0 Win Over San Marcos Knights

Willauer-Contributing Writer-Vista High School-Vista, CA-4-18-18-In one of the most important high school baseball games of in North County, the Vista Panthers at 10-8 their best baseball today and scored 2 runs in the second on a 2 rbi single by Ivan Luna scored 5 more runs in the 5th as they sent 10 batters at the place and 1 run in the 6th on an RBI double by Dave Ayala as they shocked the 2 time CIF Section Baseball Champion San Marcos Knights at 15-5 by a by a 8-0 score.

Ricky Imperali Vista Head Baseball Coach:  “We played well throughout the game along with a good mound performance by Caden Childress as he been doing it for us all year,” “Adam Coll made a good play in centerfield on Cade Kruchmeier for San Marcos and John Nunez made a good pickup at first base we started to improve with timely hitting and scoring runs late in the game which helps us to become a good ballclub.”
Caden Childress Winning Pitcher for Vista High:  “San Marcos is a good ball club I know going in today as I’m on the mound I concentrate on is getting outs and to help my team.” “Today, the nerves kept me in the game but it was strikeouts that made me feel good.”  “In the first and fourth innings I was struggling mechanically on the mound and felt a bit tired I had to stay focused on my teammates.”
“Vinny Martinez of San Marcos is an outstanding ballplayer, we were teammates on our travel baseball team and he caught me last summer which it’s kind of scary while on the mound I had to face him a couple of times and once I was in my rhythm, I got him.”  “We have our tournaments the first half of the season and when our conferences games start up we say new season start we are 0-0 and keep on grinding to win ball games,my strong pitches that worked well for me was my commanding fastball 2 seam 4 seam.” “I will be playing outfield when we play at San Marcos for a Saturday doubleheader I will be working hard in the cage at batting practice if we will be doing our work we will be ready.” said Caden Childress
 Caden Childress improves to 4-2 on the season as he pitched 6 innings gave up 4 hits 0 runs 0 earned 3 walks and 3 strikeouts.
