O Saturday, Sept. 10th , between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m Tri-City Medical Center is hosting its 30-Year Neonatal Intensive Care Unit reunion for families helped by North County’s only Level III NICU. Other than Rady Children’s Hospital, this is where North County’s sickest newborns get their care.
Over 500 families, nurses and physicians whose lives have been touched or saved by the NICU firsthand. Examples include babies who were born at 1 pound 9 ounces and are now healthy 10-year-olds as well as siblings, cousins and even multiple generations who have all been NICU babies.
Lifelong friendships form between the specialists, caregivers, parents and families who have been a part of the intense love and dedication that comes with caring for a delicate NICU baby. Tri-City Medical Center celebrates these important bonds by re-connecting individuals through an annual reunion, which is celebrating 30 years in 2016.
